Director - Dr. George Acquaye

Dr. George Acquaye

Director

Dr. George Acquaye was a significant figure in Ghana’s healthcare system, served as the Medical Director at Ridge Regional Hospital in Accra.

 

He co-founded the Nurse Anesthesia Training School in 2009 to address the shortage of anesthesia professionals and also expanded the Physician Assistant (Anesthesia) programs to enhance maternal and infant health.

 

Born on May 19, 1953, Dr. Acquaye has degrees in human biology, MBChB, and MSC in health services planning and management, all obtained from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

 

He also completed short courses in disaster medicine in Osaka, Japan, as well as training in internal crisis management and conflict resolution at Military Officer's College in Teshie, Accra

 

Additionally, he is a Facilitator at Africa Partners medical.

Mr. Stephen Tete Mantey

Co-founder & Goodwill External Advisor,

Stephen Tete Mantey is an alumnus of the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, Germany and holds a Master of Science in Business Administration (Logistics & Supply Chain) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.

 

His interests include Human Migration, Job-Market, Social and Health, Return & Reintegration Policies. He served in several roles as an administrator, project coordinator, and operations officer in past years.

 

Co-founder of Legacy Hospital Ghana Limited, currently serving as a Goodwill External Advisor, providing strategic guidance on the hospital’s policies, programs, and projects.

Shiehu Omar  Administrator/ Account Clerk

Administrator/ Account Clerk

Sani Omar is a dedicated Administrator and Account Clerk at Legacy Hospital Gh. Ltd, located in Asokore Mampong, Kumasi.

 

In this role, Sani supports the hospital’s financial and administrative operations by assisting with the preparation of financial records, maintaining accurate documentation, processing payroll, managing vendor transactions, and ensuring timely reporting.

 

He plays a crucial role in the day-to-day office coordination, helping to streamline internal processes and uphold compliance with institutional policies.

 

Sani's contributions reflect the hospital’s mission of delivering compassionate healthcare and promoting community well-being—a vision championed by co-founders Love Ampomah-Yorke and Dr. Joseph Yorke.

 

With his reliability, keen eye for detail, and strong organizational skills, Sani is a valued member of the administrative team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations behind the scenes.

Wilson Ato  Administrator

Administrator

Wilson Ato is the Administrator at Legacy Hospital Gh. Ltd in Asokore Mampong, Kumasi.

 

He is responsible for coordinating administrative services, managing staff schedules, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting strategic planning.

 

Working closely with the founding team, he is dedicated to maintaining the hospital's mission of providing compassionate, innovative, and community-centered care, contributing to its reputation as a trusted healthcare institution in Ghana.

CEO _ Consultant Surgeon - Professor Joseph Yorke

Dr. Joseph Yorke

CEO/ Consultant Surgeon

 Professor Joseph Yorke is a Professor of Surgery at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Consultant General Surgeon at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

 

He specializes in gastrointestinal cancers, diabetic foot ulcers, endoscopic surgery and many more. He is affiliated with the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the West African College of Surgeons.

 

His research focuses on colorectal cancer survival rates, surgical site infections, and risks of venous thromboembolism post-surgery.

Visiting Consultant - Dr. Joseph Akpaloo

Visiting consultant

Dr. Joseph Akpaloo is a prominent figure in medicine, having served as the CEO of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) from 2014 to 2017.

He is currently an Honorary Consultant in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a Senior Lecturer at the KNUST School of Medicine and Dentistry.

​

Dr. Akpaloo specialized in Plastic Surgery at Klinikum Rechts der Isar in Munich in 2005 and is a fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the West African College of Surgeons.

 

He advocates for research-driven healthcare improvements and promoted initiatives like the Diploma in Project Design and Management in collaboration with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and KNUST, alongside infrastructure upgrades at KATH to enhance patient care.

Love Ampomah Yorke  Co-Owner

Love Ampomah-Yorke is a co-founder of Legacy Hospital Gh. Ltd, a modern healthcare facility in Asokore Mampong, Kumasi.

 

She works alongside her husband, Dr. Joseph Yorke, a respected general surgeon and professor. Together, they envisioned Legacy Hospital as a model of compassionate and innovative healthcare.

 

Their founding philosophy emphasizes quality care, innovation, community outreach, and patient-centered service, establishing the hospital as a revered institution in Ghana and beyond.
